Follow up on the previous tenant’s complaints.

A problem that comes and goes may not show up during your walkthrough. Bring the earlier repair notes so we know what has been reported. For example, a toilet that occasionally keeps filling is worth mentioning even if it seems fine when you visit.

Tell us when the next tenant is due to move in. You can then discuss the items you want checked and our availability to complete the work.

Preparing your plumbing list

Visible moisture

If you notice water under a sink or near a connection, take a photo. Explain whether the area stays wet or whether it seems tied to use of a fixture.

Drain problems

Include any repeated blockage or slow drainage reported during the tenancy. Tell us about work already done on the same drain.

The water heater

Pass along complaints about hot water. If the heater may need replacing, check replacement availability before finalizing your schedule.

The home while it’s empty

Let us know if the main shutoff doesn’t operate properly. You can also discuss water monitoring for a vacant property.

Agree on what the visit will cover.

A visit should be based on your concerns and the plumbing that can be accessed. Confirm the cost with us before scheduling, and confirm whether water and power will be on. A visual check can’t establish the condition of every pipe hidden inside the building.
